Debra Lynne Katz, Jon Knowles, T.W. Fendley, Pili Torre & Coral Carte
The definitive book on ARV specifically, and the closest thing the field has to a methods manual. Covers protocol design, judging, target pools, and the practical failure modes that trip up prediction projects. If you read one book about what SoloARV does, read this one.
Joe McMoneagle
McMoneagle was Remote Viewer 001 in the U.S. Army's Star Gate program and remains the most documented viewer in the field's history. Mind Trek is the first-person account of learning the skill; The Stargate Chronicles is the program memoir; Remote Viewing Secrets is the closest he comes to a how-to.
Robert A. Monroe
Monroe's trilogy predates formal remote viewing and approaches non-local perception from the consciousness-exploration side rather than the laboratory side. His work led to the founding of The Monroe Institute, whose audio techniques many viewers still use to reach the state they work from.
Russell Targ & Harold Puthoff
Targ and Puthoff ran the original SRI International program that produced remote viewing as a formal protocol. Mind-Reach is the primary account of that research. Targ's later books are more accessible and cover the evidential case.
Paul H. Smith · Lyn Buchanan
Two insider accounts of the military program from the men who went on to teach Controlled Remote Viewing to civilians. Smith wrote the Army's official CRV manual; Buchanan ran the program's database and trained many of the instructors working today.
Ingo Swann
Swann co-developed the Coordinate Remote Viewing methodology at SRI and is the origin point for most structured RV training in use today.
Controlled Remote Viewing has a traceable teaching lineage. Paul Smith wrote the Army's CRV manual and trained new viewers including Lyn Buchanan; Buchanan has taught civilians since 1992 and personally certified the instructors who carry his curriculum, including Lori Williams. That lineage is worth understanding before choosing a teacher.

Remote Viewing Instructional Services, Texas. Smith served in the military program from 1983, wrote the official CRV manual, and is a past president of IRVA.
Mentored by Lyn Buchanan from 1996 and one of a small number of instructors he certified; in 2001 he handed her the U.S. basic CRV courses. Her writing on displacement is some of the clearest available to newer viewers.
President of IRVA, ARV researcher, and lead author of the ARV book above. Teaches both remote viewing and broader intuitive methods, and publishes peer-reviewed research on ARV judging and prediction.
